Principles of Real Estate
You can become a Real Estate Agent through the Snowline Adult School! We will offer the 3 classes required by the Department of Real Estate, which qualify you to take the agent’s exam through the state.
The classes we offer will be Real Estate Principles, Practices of Real Estate and Real Estate Career Introduction. You will also be able to obtain college credit at Victor Valley College while taking the classes through our articulation agreement.
If you take all 3 classes, you can obtain 9 college level credits at VVC that can transfer to other college institutions.
Classes will be held at the Snowline Adult School during the morning in Phelan, California.

Principles of Real Estate
Start date: August 18th 2025
Introductory course stressing the study of basic information in fundamental subjects in the field of real estate. Topics include legal aspects, legal descriptions, encumbrances, financing, escrow, contracts, taxation, subdivisions and zoning, appraisal, landlord/tenant relations, and arithmetic. This course is one of three required for the California Department of Real Estate Salesperson license and is an elective for the Real Estate Broker's license. BRE 100, 3 units.
Practices of Real Estate
Start date: January of 2026
Working practices in office listings and sales methods leading to competence. General basic course leading toward professionalism in real estate practice. Advanced topics involve prospecting and listing techniques, real estate agency and disclosure, selling and marketing techniques, advertising, office operations, finance, property management and real estate investment. This course is one of three required for the California Department of Real Estate Salesperson license and is an elective for the Real Estate Broker's license. BRE 101, 3 units.
Introduction to Real Estate Careers
Start date: TBD
Topics covered include: 21 different real estate careers (residential, commercial, public), goal setting for success, academic path and expectation, modern job skills required, equity in housing, ethics and legal compliance, résumé preparation, and interview readiness. Students will complete the class with a finished résumé and a personal career goal report. Course is open to anyone considering a part-time or full-time real estate career in sales, mortgage financing, appraisal, escrow, tax assessor, investment, or corporate real estate. This course is acceptable for elective credit by Department of Real Estate (DRE) for salesperson License. BRE 99, 3 units.

About the teacher:
Mr. Cripps earned his Bachelor of Science at Cal State University Northridge in Business Administration with a double option in Real Estate and Business Law. He earned two single subject teaching credentials in Business and Social Studies from Cal State University San Bernardino. He earned his Master of Arts from Cal State University of San Bernardino in Education Administration and an Administration Credential. He is the broker/owner of Real Property Investments for over 23 years and specializes in residential real estate sales. He was the first teacher in the district to teach the Real Estate Principles class through the ROP program. He was an adjunct professor of real estate at Victor Valley College for over 5 years. He has been teaching in the Snowline District for over 22 years.
